I am Andrew Hollingsworth. I graduate with my Ph.D. in Theology from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary on May 19, 2018.

My dissertation, “‘Ecos’ in the Labyrinth: Systematic Theology as Semiotic Phenomenon,” passed defense on April 11, 2018. I utilized insights from the semiotics of Umberto Eco to develop a semiotic model for understanding theology. As detailed in my CV, I have published a number of book reviews covering topics pertaining to systematic theology, theological method, philosophy of religion, and New Testament. I have a refereed journal in-press with the Global Journal of Classical Theology, on which I used insights from Umberto Eco’s semiotics to further inform theories of meaning in theological hermeneutics. I also have a number of articles in progress I intend to submit for publication, some articles submitted for peer review, and a monograph that is also in progress. I have experience teaching adjunct courses Systematic Theology 1 (THEO5300) and Logic (PHIL6303). I am seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty position teaching theology, philosophy, or New Testament.
