Dr. Charel Daniël du Toit is a South African New Testament scholar and theologian specializing in the parables of Jesus, with a particular focus on feminist and contextual biblical interpretation. Currently completing a PhD in New Testament and Related Literature through a cotutelle program between the University of Pretoria and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Dr. du Toit brings a rigorous, text-centered approach to scholarship, with an emphasis on exegetical precision and theological depth. His work seeks to faithfully engage Scripture while also addressing contemporary questions of justice and human dignity. As a lecturer and academic project manager, he has taught a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in biblical studies, academic writing, and theology. His publications—including peer-reviewed articles in HTS Teologiese Studies, Verbum et Ecclesia, Acta Theologica, and book chapters published in Kenya, Germany, and Norway by Routledge and Francis Collins—highlight his commitment to exploring biblical texts in ways that are both theologically grounded and pastorally responsive. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, Society of Biblical Literature, and the New Testament Society of South Africa.
