Historical Theology and Spirituality
I am an ABD Ph.D. candidate at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS), where I study Historical Theology and Spirituality under Dr. Michael A. G. Haykin, and where I work as a Garrett Fellow and Online Teaching Assistant. My three years of experience as an on-campus and online teaching assistant under several professors in a variety of fields has given me numerous opportunities to teach in collegiate and graduate-level classrooms. Moreover, I have several academic publications, including a couple of journal articles and a paper presentation at the Evangelical Theological Society.
I feel confident instructing students in church history and theology. I am currently considered a Church History candidate at SBTS, and my dissertation is on historical theology. I have also served as the teaching assistant to four church history professors: Dr. Haykin, Dr. Matthew Hall, Dr. John Wilsey, and Dr. Steve Weaver. Additionally, I will graduate this May 2021 with 18 hours of doctoral credits in systematic theology, which has allowed me to assist Dr. Gregg Allison in his courses. I have also taught theology at a training facility for pastors in Ecuador. Furthermore, I could also teach biblical studies and language courses. I have taken doctoral seminars in advanced Greek and in the Greco-Roman context of the New Testament, and I am the teaching assistant for Dr. T. J. Betts for his Old Testament courses.
I look forward to equipping students so that they can serve as better leaders in their churches and their communities. My attached CV and transcripts will highlight my teaching experience and academic background, tools that will help me serve the church through Christian higher education. Thank you for considering my application.
