An Investigation of Eph 4:8 as a Probable Condensed Citation of Ps 68:19, 36

In their ground-breaking books on Composite Citations in Antiquity, Sean Adams and Seth Ehorn present an overlooked ancient literary feature with underrealized potential: a composite string of stitched together citations. Many analyses have been given for obvious Pauline composite citations such as Rom 3:10-18, or 1 Cor 2:9. However, no literature has yet applied the composite theory to the quotation in Eph 4:8, a text that ostensibly quotes Ps 68:18[19

  1. This needs more work
    It is difficult to see from this brief proposal how the scholar is going to handle this difficult textual issue. I would like to see him work it out in more detail, and then we can consider it in sometime in the future.
