Description:

Description:

This article will first overview the rationale behind modified vegetarianism in Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism by looking at the holy literature from each tradition. This will deepen the Christian understanding of the significance behind abstaining from eating meat in the major world religions. The article will then survey the biblical teachings on meat eating in Christianity. Brief narratives from Christians working in other countries will be presented, and the article will conclude by advocating that Christians reconsider their meat eating lifestyle so as to be hospitable to people from all nations.
