Gulf Theological Seminary is seeking a full-time, residential faculty member in biblical studies. This role will shape shaping church planters, pastors, and ministry leaders for the least-reached part of the world by teaching courses in hermeneutics, exegesis, Old Testament, and/or New Testament, mentoring students, producing scholarship that serves the church, and supporting the mission and vision of Gulf Theological Seminary. Specific disciplinary focus and academic level of the role to be tailored to the training and experience of successful candidate.
Institutional Summary
Gulf Theological Seminary was founded in 2016 to train pastors and church planters for the 10/40 Window. We offer M.Div., M.A., and other programs accredited by the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE). As of 2025, at sites in Dubai and Abu Dhabi we are training more than two hundred students from thirty different countries. Courses are taught in English. We emphasize theological education in and for local churches, and are affiliated with Redeemer Church of Dubai, the Evangelical Church of Abu Dhabi, and selected international mission organizations.

This (as with other GTS faculty roles) is an international missionary role including responsibility to raise personal support for living costs and related ministry expenses. We will facilitate your connection to a partner mission organization and preparation for this aspect of the role.
Skills and Competencies
Requirements include:
A growing believer in Jesus Christ, having character qualifications consistent with those biblically required of the office of an elder.
Terminal degree in related discipline, or M.Div./Th.M. with openness to eventually pursuing a terminal degree.
Demonstrated passion for the local church and the church’s mission of making disciples of all nations.
Agreement with the GTS Statements of Faith (see pg. 102f of GTS Catalog, above).
Membership in, and strong recommendation of, a faithful local church.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to ministry in a very diverse multi-cultural setting.
Willingness to make a four-year commitment to this ministry, barring extenuating circumstances.
Willingness to live in Dubai and join Redeemer Church of Dubai (redeemerdubai.com)
Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following additional qualifications:
Availability and support to move to UAE by the end of 2026.
Prior experience in pastoral ministry, teaching on the college/seminary level, and/or living and ministering cross-culturally.
Ability in one of our students’ primary languages: Arabic, Hindi, Tagalog, Malayalam, Farsi, or Urdu.
