The first step in the membership process is to read the Constitution and By-Laws by clicking the “up” link below. Of particular importance is the Doctrinal Basis which is found in the Constitution and on the Membership Requirements page. If, after reading the governing documents, you are in agreement with the Doctrinal Basis, you may apply for membership.

Purpose Statement
The Evangelical Theological Society was formed in 1949 to accomplish the following purpose: “To foster conservative Biblical scholarship by providing a medium for the oral exchange and written expression of thought and research in the general field of the theological disciplines as centered in the Scriptures.” (Constitution, Article II.)

I am excited about this year’s annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society, as we approach the Society’s three-quarters of a century mark. In addition to many presentations and special sessions, we shall hear plenary addresses from three outstanding scholars and a presidential address from our ETS president, Dr. D.A. Carson.
