Description:

Leitourgia—Christian Service, Collected Essays: A Festschrift for Joykutty M. George is a collection of essays on the topic of Christian service. The Greek word leitourgia (pronounced: li-tour-jia) means, “service,” “ministry,” or “worship”—a concept profuse in the New Testament. Often, however, one thinks of either Sunday service or singing at the beginning of a service as “worship,” and being a pastor or a missionary as engaging in Christian “service.” The purpose of these collective essays is to show that (a) every Christian is mandated to live a life of worshipful service or serving worship and (b) Christian service is versatile—from Bible translation to caring for needy widows.
