Director of Library Services/Faculty

The Director of Library Services at CBT is responsible for all activities related to the utilization of resource materials, equipment, and facilities of the Keith C. Wills Library. The Director sets policy; participates in strategic planning; develops and promotes library resources and services; manages appropriate technologies; proposes and manages the library budget; and oversees library furnishings, equipment, and the archives. The Director also provides for the delivery of appropriate reference and instructional services to students, faculty and staff; selects and supervises the library staff; and ensures that appropriate library services are provided for online students.

As a member of the Faculty, the Director of Library Services has full voice and vote in faculty matters and works with other faculty members to determine learning resource needs to support the curriculum. When qualified, the Registrar may also take on some limited teaching responsibilities in the college and/or seminary.

Qualified candidates will possess a master’s degree in library science (MLS) or equivalent from an ALA or CLA accredited institution. Candidates working toward an MLS or equivalent degree may be considered. Those interested in teaching should possess the appropriate academic credentials. Successful leadership experience in library administration and/or teaching is also expected. As for all faculty, the Director of Library Services is expected to demonstrate strong Christian character and to affirm the school’s doctrinal statement CNBC-Statement-of-Faith.pdf (cbtsc.ca) (CBT has the same Statement of Faith as its parent denomination, the Canadian National Baptist Convention.)
