Faculty position in New Testament Studies

Logos Evangelical Seminary invites applications for a full-time faculty position in New Testament studies, with a primary focus on teaching Th.M./Ph.D. level courses and providing leadership for the Th.M./Ph.D. program. The successful candidate will join a dynamic faculty committed to excellence in theological education and scholarly inquiry. Logos is an ATS accredited Mandarin speaking seminary in El Monte, California. We are seeking to fill a faculty position of New Testament, beginning in the Fall of 2024 or Spring 2025.

Qualifications:
• A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in New Testament studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the Th.M./Ph.D. level, with a strong commitment to academic rigor and student engagement. Master-level courses will also be assigned.
• A proven record of scholarly research and publication in the field of New Testament studies. Area of specialization is open.
• Ability to provide academic leadership, mentorship, and guidance to students enrolled in the Th.M./Ph.D. program.
• Experience in curriculum development and program administration, preferably in a theological education context.
• Commitment to the institution’s mission, vision, and core values, with a demonstrated understanding of and respect for diverse theological perspectives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a collegial academic environment.
• Active participation in professional academic societies and networks.

Responsibilities:
• Teach graduate-level courses in New Testament studies at the Th.M./Ph.D. level, including both core and elective courses.
• Provide academic advisement and mentorship to students enrolled in the Th.M./Ph.D. program, guiding them in their scholarly pursuits and research projects.
• Develop and revise course syllabi, assignments, and assessments to ensure alignment with program objectives and standards of academic excellence.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Th.M./Ph.D. program curriculum, in collaboration with the faculty and administration.
• Engage in scholarly research and publication, producing high-quality academic work that advances knowledge in the field of New Testament studies.
• Participate in departmental and institutional activities, including faculty meetings, committees, and academic events.
• Serve as a representative of the institution within academic and professional circles, actively contributing to the wider scholarly community through conference presentations, workshops, and other engagements.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the academic dean or department chair.
