Gateway Seminary (www.gs.edu) invites applications and nominations for a full-time trustee-elected position: Director of the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling (MACC) and Professor of Biblical Counseling.
Duties: The professor will teach 18 credit hours yearly of graduate level courses, serve as the Director of the MACC (a non-licensure, ministry focused counseling degree), supervise masters and/or D.Min. projects, participate in general faculty responsibilities, and conduct scholarly research and writing.
Qualifications: A terminal degree from a regionally or ATS accredited institution in an area of study appropriate to the teaching of Counseling from a biblical perspective is required. A preferred candidate will have ministry-counseling experience in a local church or denominational context, a desire to empower all ministry leaders to counsel in their church and ministry contexts, demonstrated competence/promise in instruction, a record of scholarly and/or professional research, commitment to collegiality, and ability to participate in distance learning. The preferred candidate will also value a broad range of counseling techniques because they are based in Scripture and will be able support their use by referring to evidenced based knowledge and practice in contemporary psychological science. The candidate must affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and be prepared to work in support of the current mission statement of the Seminary.
Rank and salary: Determined by credentials and experience.
