Professor of Counseling and Spiritual Formation

CBT is looking for a full-time, residential professor, whose primary areas of teaching would be in counseling and spiritual formation. The ability to teach in other academic areas is also valued. Instruction would be conducted at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, in person and online. All professors fulfill various administrative duties such as faculty advising, curriculum oversight, and serving on academic committees.

Qualified candidates will have:
 Committed Christian character and evidence of a call to Christian ministry.
 The ability to affirm the school’s doctrinal statement. CNBC-Statement-of-Faith.pdf (cbtsc.ca) (CBT has the same Statement of Faith as its parent denomination, the Canadian National Baptist Convention.)
 A PhD or DMin in the appropriate academic disciplines and some successful teaching experience.
 Desire and ability to mentor students from a wide variety of backgrounds.
 Cross-cultural or international work or ministry experience.
 Ministry experience in the local church.
 Recognizable leadership skills, especially in higher education or administration.
 Strong people skills and the ability to serve as a team player.
 Strong communication skills in speaking and writing.
 Experience or potential in research, writing and publishing.
