This paper will argue from the given deficiencies of the analogy between the Incarnation and Scripture that a better analogy exists between the inspiration of Scripture and the doctrine of Christ’s theandric acts. I assume the inadequacies of the original analogy and make the somewhat modest argument that the proposed analogy is a better analogy in that it makes better connections between the doctrine of Scripture and the doctrine of theandric acts. This paper will argue the following thesis: The incarnational or Christological analogy between Scripture and Christ, which aims to elucidate how Scripture can be simultaneously human and divine finds a more suitable comparison in Christ’s operations rather than Christ’s natures through a proper delineation between revelation, inspiration, and Scripture coupled with a Thomistic doctrine of the instrumentum divinitatis.
