Description

The Biblical Canon Lists contains all Christian lists of scriptural books in Greek (e.g. Athanasius), Latin (e.g. Augustine), and Syriac up to around 400. It also has a chapter on Jewish lists, including the texts of Josephus and Baba Batra. Each list is presented with the original language and English translation in parallel columns and includes an introduction and notes explaining its features and meaning. Furthermore, the book contains a chapter that treats the early period before the lists, a chapter on manuscripts, an appendix which summarizes the evidence for disputed and well-known apocryphal books, an introduction, and bibliography.
