Theologians Without Borders (TWB) team members will be at the ETS Annual Meeting, San Antonio, TX, in November 2023. Dr Ian Payne and Dr Stephanie Black will be there. This is your chance to meet up with us. Share our excitement: Majority World seminaries are asking Theologians Without Borders to help find tutors—for both online and increasingly in-person teaching visits. Travel restrictions have eased and so more in-person visits are being welcomed. Can you help? Use your theological training to bless the global church.
ETS Members: If you have not been receiving emails from ETS, you may have unsubscribed at some point. This happens most often when someone receives an email sent out by ETS from a publisher or annual meeting sponsor and unsubscribes or checks “do not contact” in response to that email. It actually removes that member from our list entirely, including future emails about the annual meeting and proposal period.
JBTS Call for Papers
9.1 Ecclesiology
The Journal of Biblical and Theological Studies, a peer-reviewed, open access journal, invites scholarly submissions for a forthcoming issue on Ecclesiology. JBTS is an interdenominational, broadly evangelical journal that seeks to provide high-level scholarship to both scholars and students. In this special issue, we seek a broad engagement with the Doctrine of the Church. Potential topics can range from the church’s identity, its mission and/or how the church relates to the state and society, its sacraments, its unity and diversity, catholicity, ecumenism, or practical concerns that today’s church encounters. For inquires, contributors may reach out to justin.mclendon@gcu.edu. Deadline for submission is 12/1/2023. Article guidelines can be found here.
If you were not able to join us in Denver for the 2022 annual meeting, or if you were there and want to listen to sessions that you missed, you can order recordings here.
Thanks to WordMp3 for recording these sessions and making them available! Plenary sessions and the Presidential address will be posted here when they are available.
ETS Full Members,
The following is information regarding the amendments to the ETS Bylaws that will be voted on at the 2022 business meeting in Denver on Thursday, November 17.
As you recall, 15 amendments proposed by the Executive Director and approved by the Board were read at the 2021 business meeting in Forth Worth. The amendments seek to bring our bylaws in line with our existing practices and procedures, to clarify policies, and to update the language of our bylaws.
On behalf of Darrell Bock, Jonathan Pennington, Scott Rae, Richard Mouw and the other members of our Founding Editorial Board, I would like to share with you the call for papers of a new peer-reviewed journal of theology for the life of the world: The Faith & Flourishing: A Journal of Karam Fellowship.
Dear Members,
If you have not received ETS emails over the past weeks, months, even years, you may have an old (or bad) email address on file, or you may have unsubscribed from an email that came from ETS in the past. Whether intentional or not, that would prevent you from receiving announcements about paper proposals in the spring, conference registration and information (including special events), new books and specials from publishers, and any other email that ETS sends out.
ETS Members (especially student members): if your address changes after the semester or school year, please update your account with a new address.
